Precise Biometrics’ Extractor best in Ongoing MINEX

Precise Biometrics' participation in the Ongoing MINEX Program has led to excellent results. The Extractor that Precise Biometrics entered with was proven to be the best ever submitted in the Ongoing MINEX program. We are satisfied, but not surprised, says Patrik Lindeberg, Director of the Technical Department.

Best of 43
Precise Biometrics’ Extractor was recognized as the best one out of the 43 different that have been submitted to the Ongoing MINEX Program. The result was published on the NIST website last week. The Company’s Matcher also achieved good results.

An Extractor enables extraction of information from a fingerprint image to create a fingerprint template – a digital representation of the fingerprint. An accurate representation is essential to achieve good FRR and FAR results at matching.

Measures interoperability
Ongoing MINEX is an American interoperability program initiated by NIST – the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. The program’s objective is to provide measurements of interoperability between different vendors as well as establishing compliance with the US PIV program (Personal Identity Verification)

Not surprised
"We are of course very satisfied, but not surprised, over this result. As a world-leading provider of solutions for fingerprint recognition we know that our technology holds a very high level of performance. This is the result of many years of experience and great efforts from our outstanding research department", says Patrik Lindeberg, Director of the Technical Department.
